About the Florida Engineers in Construction (FECON)

The Florida Engineers in Construction or FECON is one of the six practice sections of the Florida Engineering Society representing those members who are engaged in construction or design/construction, or an FES members whose interest is primarily in the construction field.

Any member of FES may participate in the activities of this section subject to the rules of government and operation.

For the second year in a row FECON grants a $4000 FELI Scholarship

Congratulations to Stephen Crawford, PE, Estimating Manager for the The Crom Corporation in Gainesville, FL. He is the lucky recipient of the Florida Engineers in Construction (FECON), 2nd Annual Florida Engineering in Leadership Institute (FELI) Scholarship giveaway. In an attempt to promote the importance of the FELI program to FECON members, the FECON Executive Committee decided to reward one lucky member a full scholarship to the program. Upon being granted the scholarship, Steven writes: "It has been one of my professional goals for years to participate in FELI and I am excited to have submitted my application for the 2012 class. I desire to learn how to develop myself into an effective leader and use this knowledge to the benefit of our community and my own workplace." After receiving word of being selected as the recipient, Stephen writes: "Thank you for the generous scholarship for the FELI class of 2012. I am both very excited and very appreciative to be selected as the recipient of the scholarship. This scholarship has lightened the financial burden and will allow me to participate in this year's class. I look forward to the experience that lies ahead with this opportunity."

Annual Conference and Other Activities

FECON shall meet annually at the time and place established for the annual conference of FES. The venue is a breakfast with official business as the first part of the agenda followed by a more informal gathering of peers and friends.
