FICE Awards and Scholarships
Take advantage of the opportunity
to gain recognition for your firm and other individuals important
to your business. The Florida Institute of Consulting Engineers (FICE)
encourages your nominations for the following awards programs.
Engineering
Excellence Awards
The FICE Engineering Excellence Awards program is designed
to recognize outstanding contributions to the consulting engineering
profession through comprehensive evaluation of projects by a distinguished
panel of experts in related fields. The top winners at the
state level proceed to the national competition administered by the
American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), where they will
compete for, among other awards, the coveted Grand Conceptor Award. CLICK

This award is presented to a registered professional
engineer who has brought recognition to the profession through public
office and/or civic leadership with significant participation in
FICE and other professional and technical activities and societies.
Each FICE member firm may nominate one individual. CLICK

Professional
Development Award
This award is given annually to the nominated firm
that is considered to be the best "industry model" for
professional development of its technical staff, and one that encourages
participation by its engineers in professional and technical societies,
civic activities and in continuing education. FICE member firms in
good standing that have exhibited a significant level in FICE activities
are eligible. Each FICE member may nominate one firm.

This award is intended to recognize FICE members for their accomplishments
in community service. The nominees shall be outstanding individuals
who have been involved in community service such as board, commissions,
or community groups, and shall have demonstrated a sustained commitment
to their communities. Nominees shall be perceived by the public in
their communities as leaders, may have been active in local, county,
or state government, shall have served to influence decision-making
on issues other than professional, and shall be or have been a principal
or manager in a member firm of FICE for at least five years. The
winner will be honored at the FES/FICE Annual Summer Conference and
Exposition.

2007 FICE/FDOT
Project Management Excellence Awards
The 2007 FICE/FDOT Project Management Excellence Awards are designed
to recognize you and your organization for innovative engineering
management practices. This award is sponsored jointly by the Florida
Institute of Consulting Engineers and the Florida Department of Transportation.
For the second time, FICE and FDOT will be presenting awards for
Excellence in Project Management in conjunction with the Project
Management Conference, June 6-8, 2007, at the Caribe Royale in Orlando.

FICE Florida Scholarship
The FICE Scholarship will honor one Florida college student
expressing interest and commitment to the business and management
of the engineering profession. To qualify, a student must be a US
citizen pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an Accreditation Board
for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-approved engineering program
or in an accredited land-surveying program. Students must be entering
their junior, senior, or fifth year of college to qualify.
One statewide winner will be determined, and awarded a FICE
Scholarship in the amount of $5,000. That scholarship recipient will
then be forwarded to ACEC for consideration for the ACEC Scholarships. CLICK

GMEC Award
Recognizes outstanding personal efforts on the part
of its recipient to advance the technical and professional practice
of geotechnical engineering firms in Florida for a minimum of ten
