Call for Entries Deadline: September 14, 2012
General Criteria
Official
Entry Form
Any Florida firm which is engaged in the private practice of consulting
engineering or surveying and is registered with the Department of
Business and Professional Regulation is eligible to enter.
Entries may be placed in anyone of the eight categories. The entering
firm must select the one category which is most appropriate; however,
FICE reserves the right to determine the eligibility and category
classification of all entries.
Engineering achievements that have won awards in other
design awards competitions may be entered.
Projects entered may have been executed anywhere in the world. Research
and Studies (Category A) must
have been publicly disclosed by the client between November 1, 2010
and October 31, 2012. Construction of projects (Categories B-J) must have been substantially completed and ready
for use between
November 1, 2010 and October 31, 2012.
Firms wishing to participate in the ACEC Engineering Excellence
Awards competition must first compete and win a Grand Award in the
FICE state competition.
FICE rules replicate, as closely as possible, the ACEC rules and
regulations. Neither FICE nor ACEC is responsible for any damage
or loss to an entrant's panel, notebook or other materials.

Rating Guidelines for Judging
Entries will be judged on the basis of total engineering excellence
in 12 categories as shown above. Entries will be judged on the
basis of the work performed by the entering firm only and according
to the rating guidelines listed.

Awards
Grand Awards
At their discretion, the judges may award
a FICE Engineering Excellence Grand Award in each category, depending
upon the number
of entries
received. FICE will announce the 2012 Grand Award winners on
November 27, 2012.
Florida Grand Conceptor Award
The EEA judges may
award a Florida Grand Conceptor Award to one Grand Award Project
they deem best
overall engineering achievement. FICE
will announce the winning project at the FICE Banquet on Friday,
August 2013 in Palm Beach, Florida.

Note: Do not mention the entering firm's name or logo on the client/owner
letter or executive summary.
