ADMINISTRATIVE POLICY (AP No. 21D)

PROCEDURES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF CONFERENCES, SEMINARS AND/OR WORKSHOPS

A volunteer shall be appointed by the Professional Development Committee for each Conference, Seminar and/or Workshop who shall serve as "champion" or chairperson of the event. Together with the Director of Professional Development they will:

Select topics, outline the program, and identify potential speakers

Promote attendance through suggested marketing strategies and identification of appropriate markets

Attend the program to serve as moderator or host

FES staff will coordinate the arrangements for securing speakers, contracting with the conference facility, printing and distribution of promotional material, coverage in the JOURNAL, participant registration, management of on-site details, payment of expenses, and maintenance of records.
