Course Prerequisite
One year of experience in work zone traffic control or one year being responsible for work zone traffic control plan development.

Requirement
This course is required for personnel with responsibility or authority to decide on the specific maintenance of traffic requirements to be implemented. These positions include the following:

(a) The engineer responsible for the work zone traffic control plan development;

(b) The work zone traffic control supervisor.

This course is not required for submitting Traffic Control Plans for utility work, unless such persons have to sign and seal the Traffic Control Plans in accordance with the UAM.

-Professional Engineers and design consultants
-Contractors who supervise work zone traffic control areas
-FDOT design and construction engineers

You Will Learn How to:
-Adapt typical control plan layouts to specific site conditions
-Design and manage traffic control plans (TCPs) of varying complexity
-Identify relevant fundamental and human factor principles that impact TCP design
-Apply workable concepts and techniques in the design, installation, and maintenance of TCPs
-Appropriately utilize work zone traffic control devices

Non-members = $650

After February 1, 2010
Late FES & FICE Members = $600
Late Non-members = $700

Registration & Payment Deadline
All registrations must be received at FES Headquarters by close of business (5 p.m. EST) on February 1, 2010.  This course may fill to capacity before the registration deadline listed.  If this happens, you will be notified and given the opportunity to be placed on a waiting list. Registrations will be accepted after the deadline on a space-available basis. A $50 late fee applies. Please call (800) 277-0086 to see if we can accommodate you.  Your registration will be cancelled and offered to patrons on our waiting list if we do not receive your payment by February 1, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.

Confirmation E-mail
Upon registering for this course you will receive a confirmation email, please keep this email for your records.  If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail within 10 business days, please contact our office at (850) 224-7121.  Prior to the seminar you will receive an additional email with frequently asked questions.

Cancellation
Requests for registration cancellation must be received in writing before 5:00 p.m., February 1, 2010.  The cancellation fee is $50. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after this date.  Substitutions are permitted any time. However, if non-members are taking the place of members, a full non-member registration fee will be charged. Please be prepared to remit additional fees.

Continuing Education Credit

The Florida Engineering Society is an approved provider of continuing education from the Florida Board of Professional Engineers. The FICE Advanced WZTC Course has been approved for 20 PDHs of technical credit that can be used for PE license renewal.

Group Rate:  $139.00/night, plus applicable tax (single/double occupancy)
All reservations must be accompanied by a first night room deposit or guaranteed with a major credit card.  Hotel will not hold any reservations unless secured by a credit card.

The hotel reservation deadline is on or before January 29, 2010.  Please note that this is the date through which the hotel will hold any rooms left in the block, but it does not guarantee that room will not sell out prior to the reservation deadline.  Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible to help ensure rate and availability.

Hotel Parking is valet only.  Special group discount on parking:  $15.00 for overnight parking and $8.00 daily drive-in.  Self Parking is available at South Regional Parking Garage across the street; the price ranges from $5-$15.
