FES promotes and defends the professional interests of all engineers in the state of Florida.


FES supports engineering education, advocates licensure, promotes the ethical and competent practice of engineering, and enhances the image and well-being of all engineers in the state of Florida; and furthers the public’s knowledge and understanding of the importance of the profession.

  • Stopped other professions from authorizing themselves to perform engineering services
  • Repealed joint and several liability
  • Lowered the time period that a lawsuit can be filed regarding the design, planning or construction of an improvement to real property from 15 years to 10 years
  • Raised the state per diem for government engineers
